Application:(1) It works as O/W emulgator with suggested concentration of 0.1%～0.5%. When work as thickener and suspending agent, the suggested concentration is 0.1%～1.0%.

(2) As hydrosoluble matrix of ointments and suppositories. The suggested concentration is 0.5%～3.0%. The resulting ointments are fine and smooth when they are put on the skin.

(3)As adhesive and coating material. When it is used as adhesive in granules and tablets, the concentration depends on the physical and chemical properties of the main ingredient and prescription design, the suggested concentration is 0.2%～2.0%. When it is used as coating material, the resulting coat is firm, fine and smooth.

(4) As sustained release material.  On the one hand, it can make the drug release slowly by forming soluble and gelatinous inner-salt with alkaline drugs, and used for preparation of controlled-release eye drops and nose drops. On the other hand, it can keep release speed and appearance while suffering from steam sterilization under the condition of high temperature and high pressure, act as hydrophilic framework material of tablets, granules and films, and make the drug controlled release and long-acting.
